Your content, my friend, is the treasure map.
And I sold a lot of treasure maps!
Over and over and over.
Frankly, it was as almost simple as writing “X marks the spot.”
I have to admit, watching the readers reach for their credit cards to start digging was one of the most exciting things you can experience.
To cash in on content copywriting, you too must think that you are selling a treasure map as well.
That map could be not only for wealth and riches but also for health and beauty, fitness, saving money, and making money in a whole host of industries.

Think INFOMERCIAL/Advertorial in a sales letter, direct mail package, or video sales letter. I credit my success to my Two-Treasure Map approach.
- The free content was the first treasure map.
- The second treasure map was listed in the content.
Cha-ching!
Think of that show “The Great Race.” Where the contestants are racing around the world in search of clues that will get them the prize money.
My promotions worked the same way…but my content was giving away some of the FREE MONEY in terms of stock picks as teasers. Those teasers, of course, would lead them directly to—THE NEXT TREASURE MAP.
Of course, I would not call it the treasure map. It was the free report we were giving away that contained the treasure map!
To be sure, the FREE treasure map was not 100% FREE. It was free with the purchase of a subscription.
But because it came with a 100% money-back guarantee, it was as good as FREE because the reader got to keep the proverbial treasure map even if they canceled!
You’ve got to love that. They did!
Oh my god, this approach was like taking candy from a baby. All through the expert weaving of story copy that would again:

- Inspire

Because was telling “money stories” to sell the “secret stock that would make you rich,” it was so easy.

By the time the reader realized this was actually a promotional piece, they were getting their credit card out to pay to get the second treasure map (FREE REPORT) that revealed “the secret stocks” that would make them rich!
